Living in ATX for several years, you sort of get accustomed to the constant music events happening in and around the city. Not bragging, just stating a fact. There are few events where you simply can’t avoid because it’s a) too big to not avoid (ACL, SXSW); b) too good of a show (Revivalists coming to Emo’s this month! Sold out show. Anybody got tickets?); or c) it’s a big free event.

Tomorrow night, KUTX, the public radio station from UT Austin, is hosting KUTX Live at Mueller (pronounced “Miller” if you want to sound like a true Austinite…or German). The event is at Mueller Lake Park & Amphitheatre at 7 PM. Leopold and His Fiction will be headlining the show with The Que Pastas opening up.

Bring your blankets, chairs, picnic baskets and family to this free event. There will be a kid-friendly concert hosted by Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child as well as kids activities. Kids face painting and other kids activities will be available before 7 PM.

Can’t make it tomorrow? No worries. This is part of KUTX’s KUTX Live at Mueller spring concert series. The next free show will be Friday, May 12.

For more information like transportation and parking, check out www.KUTX.org and don’t forget to check out KUTX 98.9 for recommendations on new artists, local artists and great tunes (no, I do not get paid for this plug. I am just a true fan of the station). Enjoy!
