Hello Everyone! My first novel, Beleco, has been published.
First of all, I would like to say many thanks to my family and friends for supporting me not only through the writing process, but life in general. I would also like to give a special shout-out to Mustafa Monk for being my lead editor. Thank you!
About Beleco
Beleco tells the story of Iva Michaelson, an 18-year-old living in Austin, Texas in March 2014. When she finds out she is Iva LeBlanc, royal heir and center of a prophecy to the twenty-ninth century kingdom of Beleco, she embarks on a journey throughout human history to not only fulfill her destiny but figure out who she really is.
Beleco first began as an idea in the Fall 2013 semester. A simple idea of a hero’s journey structure, influenced by Greek Mythology, was inspired by the lessons learned in my Honors: Chronicles of Narnia class at St. Edward’s University. Every year that passed brought on more inspiration to the story, from my classes to current events to the people I met along the way. Now, 7.5 years later, after mapping, outlining, writing, editing, re-writing and re-editing and even self-designing a cover, Beleco has become a concrete concept beyond the Files folder in my laptop. This novel has been my journal through the highs and escape through the lows. It has been with me through grad school and multiple jobs, moves and even a pandemic. I’m ecstatic to bring this into the world for everyone to read and share.
